Any idea about Iran free museum day for independent tourists?

Admission charges for Iran’s museums are to be waived on February, 9, 2016.

Admission charges for Iran’s museums administered by the country’s Cultural Heritage, Handcrafts and Tourism Organization will be waived on February 9, 2016.

Mohammadreza Karga, director general of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization for Museum Affairs, made the remarks, adding the decision to set the date for the free admission charges on Thursday rather than Friday is due to a massive turnout in a Friday rally marking anniversary of the Islamic Revolution victory.

On the 22nd day of the month of Bahman on the solar calendar year of 1357, Iranians ended the monarchical rule in the country.

Kargar also said a free admission to the CHHTO’s museums, will be for Iranians as well as foreign tourists who travel to Iran independently.

Every year millions of the Iranians take to the streets nationwide to mark the anniversary of the Islamic revolution in 1979.  This year’s event falls on February 10.

Iran enjoys a great number of museums that attract local and foreign tourists each year.
